Neil Grice MRICS

Neil is the Managing Director of GCL and looks after the agency and new business development for the practice.

Neil is a chartered surveyor and is one of the founding Directors of the practice. After leaving the Royal Navy, Neil commenced work with Churston Heard, rising to Associate Director running the West Midlands area and then progressing to Head of Retail Group at Nelson Bakewell for five years.

Neil is recognised as one of the leading experts in travel and destination retail and turnover rents throughout the United Kingdom.

Neil has formed the opinion that Zoning and rates PSF are somewhat blunt instruments for the letting of property. He is a strong advocate of dealing with each  letting on an individual basis and working in full acknowledgement that different retailers and F & B operators can afford different levels of rent for the same unit . The key is to secure the maximum affordable rent.

These difficult trading times makes it even more important for tenants to be operating in an environment where by they not only survive but can have their rent track their success ( and indeed failure) .

Neil is currently  making this case via  various papers and speaking engagements he is working on over the coming year.
